From the President's Desk

Dear Colleague,

The DAO officers and board welcome you to the 2011-12 program year.  Lori Coors has prepared an excellent agenda for the upcoming year.  Like last year, we will have three programs in addition to our Fall Social.  This has been a great new addition, allowing us to interact in a less formal environment and catch up without having to post an update online.  
 
Our first speaker will be Robert Cionni.  He will present exciting information on femtosecond assisted cataract surgery.  As femtosecond technology now dominates the LASIK environment, it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the cataract population.
 
Our Fall Social will be in November, with a date TBD, but please continue to check the DAO website for updates.
 
Carol Shields will be our speaker on March 15.  This will allow all of us to further her case load by sending all of our ocular tumors to Philadelphia.
 
We are still coordinating our January speaker, so please check back to the website periodically.  We will send out a notice once this is in place.
 
Thanks to David Godfrey for his leadership as past president and please welcome Jorge Corona as our new program chair.
